Freedom of Information

The Freedom of information Act 2000 seeks to promote a culture of openness and accountability amongst public sector bodies, and therefore improve public understanding of how public bodies carry out their duties, why they make the decisions they do, and how they spend public money.  The Act states that public authorities, including all schools and academies, should be clear and proactive about the information they will make public.  Our school is required to comply with the provisions of the Act and related legislation. This provides a general entitlement to any person to be able to access information held by our school, subject to exemptions and exceptions laid down by the relevant legislation

As an educational provider, our school has an obligation to publish a freedom of information statement, outlining how we will meet our duties under the FOIA and associated regulations. The policy and publication scheme are a means of showing how we are pursuing these aims. The policy can be found on the Trust website - link here.
